Founded Grassroots Economics Foundation (2010, Kenya), which builds community inclusion currencies — Bangla-Pesa, Eco-Pesa, and the Sarafu Network — that let marginalized communities issue their own vouchers and mutual credit instead of depending on scarce national currency, making the community itself the accountable issuer. He has published transaction-data research on Sarafu (e.g. arXiv 2209.01512 on holding periods/money velocity) and released the book 'Grassroots Economics: Reflection and Practice' in February 2025; the foundation's 2026 roadmap includes a Cosmo-Local Credit protocol launch.
