Nourou founded the Bitcoin Senegal community in 2021 and built Banxaas, an app that swaps bitcoin and West African mobile money such as Orange Money and Wave over Lightning. He organizes the annual Dakar Bitcoin Days conference and teaches bitcoin in Wolof and French. His work gives people in the CFA franc zone a working alternative to a currency managed outside their countries.
