Danisha Kazi leads the economics work at Positive Money, a London campaign group that argues money creation should not sit with private banks. She co-wrote Beyond Dollar Dominance, a 2024 report on how the dollar's place at the top of the currency hierarchy leaves Global South countries trading and repaying debt in someone else's money. The report recommends new payment systems that would let those countries settle more of that trade in their own currencies. She has a PhD in economics from SOAS, where she taught heterodox economics before joining Positive Money in 2020.
