Stefan Brunnhuber is a German economist and psychiatrist who argues that a single monetary system cannot pay for the global commons on its own. He designed a digital parallel currency that would run alongside national money and finance only the United Nations sustainable development goals. He set the design out in Financing our Future (Palgrave, 2021) and contributed to the Club of Rome report Money and Sustainability. He is a full member of the Club of Rome and a trustee of the World Academy of Art and Science.
