Economist at Sciences Po Lyon and a leading scholar of monetary plurality — the study of how societies always run on several forms of money at once. His books Les monnaies parallèles and Les monnaies alternatives map the alternative-currency landscape from local exchange systems to bitcoin, and his recent work distills fifteen years of French local-currency experience into lessons for territorial development and the ecological turn. He co-founded RAMICS, the international research association on monetary innovation and complementary currencies, and serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Community Currency Research.
