Dan Awrey is the Beth and Marc Goldberg Professor of Law at Cornell Law School. His book Beyond Banks argues that money and payments can be separated from bank lending, and that new issuers should get a safe legal path to hold customer funds and settle payments. He co-founded the Journal of Financial Regulation and co-wrote the textbook Principles of Financial Regulation.
