Le Buzuk
The local currency of the Pays de Morlaix in Brittany, created in 2016. One buzuk equals one euro. Members pay with paper notes or a digital account at more than 100 local businesses. About 1,200 households, businesses and associations take part, and more than 800,000 buzuks have been spent in the area. Since April 2026 the association has helped run a food social security trial that pays participating households a monthly allowance in food buzuks to spend with local producers.
